REFLECTIONS ON 2013: WORK, TRUST AND OPPORTUNITIES

REFLECTIONS ON 2013: WORK, TRUST AND OPPORTUNITIES

2014, we start a new year and TRAYMA TRADUCCIONES wants to reflect and share with all its customers and suppliers the actions undertaken throughout 2013.

As skipper of the boat, I feel the satisfaction of a job well done. As always, the year has had its ups and downs, but overall we canconclude that we have done a good job. t has been a very hard year, but we have achieved our objectives. Sometimes we have rowed together, customers, suppliers and TRAYMA staff, sometimes not, but in the end we have come to a successful conclusion: we ended the year with a good result. We are always building customer loyalty and working with other companies that have opened their doors to us and have trusted us.

January began, as always, with a focus on teaching in the Master of Industrial Property of the University of Alicante, in which I myself, Verónica González, teach IP-specific legal terminology in English to the students of said Master. The experience is very rewarding since it allows me to keep up to date with the latest developments in IP since I finished my Master’s Degree in 1997.

In February and March we continue with these classes to complete the Community Trademarks and Designs Module, specifically, closely linked to the fact that the OHIM is located in the city of Alicante. Throughout the year I have worked as an interpreter, together with a great team of professionals, at the Community Trademark Court, as a sworn interpreter of English with the specialty of Industrial and Intellectual Property, in addition to performing conference interpreting at various congresses and conferences related to this subject.

In April, a thousand waters, as the saying goes, and TRAYMA begins to sign several collaboration agreements with various professional associations such as FEMPA (metal sector), ASAJA (agriculture sector), VINOS ALICANTE (wine appellation of origin), among others. In May and June, we carried out several interpretations and started working hand in hand with the Quirón Hospital in Torrevieja, translating all their advertising texts, brochures, catalogs and web page.

The summer months were very productive for TRAYMA because we worked a lot with sworn translations of academic certificates of young Spanish graduates who were going abroad to work, on the one hand; and on the other hand, direct and inverse sworn translations of accounting and financial documentation necessary to apply for a bank loan and subsequently formalize the purchase of a home by Russian citizens in the Valencian Community.

In September, with the return to school, TRAYMA acquired a project management software called Gestpoint, which has greatly lightened our daily management of translation project processing and which we highly recommend to other translation companies and even freelance translators. In addition, we are committed to participate with various public entities, such as the Local Development Agency of the Alicante City Council, in order to transmit their linguistic and practical knowledge in the preparation of public tenders and bids.

In October, TRAYMA offers the interpretation service at the II International Congress of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Elche, and begins an itinerary of interpreting (in English and German) throughout the province of Alicante, with the with the help of the Alicante Provincial Council informing foreign citizens about the upcoming elections to the European Parliament and the importance of being registered in the municipalities where they reside. The same end in early December with the satisfaction of having received the applause and praise of the various municipalities with which we have worked: Teulada-Moraira, Calpe, Denia, Pilar de la Horadada, Torrevieja, Orihuela, San Fulgencio, Rojales, Javea, Benissa…

Looking back on the year in perspective, we are proud to have been faithful to our principles of offering the best of ourselves, helping different cultures to understand each other and helping the province in which we live to make itself known abroad. We have strengthened our ties with the three basic pillars of our clientele: the tourism sector, working with the Valencian Tourism Agency and the Tourist Board; the legalsector, translating for various notaries and lawyers, especially in the field of Industrial and Intellectual Property; and the commercial and marketing sector, with very close collaboration in the translation of various blogs and websites of companies in the footwear, toy, nougat, furniture, decorative panels, DIY, gardening, decoration, plastics, marble, hospitals, insurance companies, etc.

But the best thing about all this is not what has happened, but the illusion we have for the immediate future. Next week we start with a new client, which is a great personal and professional milestone for TRAYMA. We will translate industrial property documents (patents, trademarks, designs, domain names, various reports, appellations of origin, geographical indications, etc.) in the combinations of English and Spanish, mainly for the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (Oficina Española de Patentes y Marcas). ) in combinations of English and Spanish, mainly for the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO). As specialist translators in this sector, we are very excited and look forward to giving, as always, our best.
